Chapins
Os chapins são aves de pequena dimensão e aspecto compacto, com um bico curto mas forte. Apresentam uma grande diversidade de plumagens e algumas espécies ostentam uma poupa. De hábitos florestais, têm uma dieta variada, que inclui insectos e sementes. Muitas espécies frequentam zonas urbanizadas e visitam regularmente os comedouros. Os chapins nidificam em cavidades e também apreciam caixas-ninho, o que permite que estas aves sejam bem estudadas.
